Suzanne joined the Southwest Georgia Regional Commission in August 1995. She has served as Executive Director since May 2019. Prior to her promotion, she served in the role of Finance Director for almost 24 years. The majority of her experience has been with local government and community-based agencies. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (Accounting) degree from Georgia College, and an Associate of Science Degree in Business Administration from Macon Junior College. Suzanne resides in Decatur County with her husband, two cats and dog. Her daughter resides in Atlanta.

Traci Hall

Traci joined the Southwest Georgia Regional Commission in September of 2021. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from Abraham Baldwin College. In 2018 she earned the Dr Edward Mobley President’s Award and the Top Business Scholar. She has over 20 years’ experience in Account receivables and payables. She resides in Decatur County with her husband, children, and grandchildren.

Brenda Wade
Grants Administration Manager

Mrs. Wade has more than 17 years of experience in grant administration. The majority of her experience has been with the local governments in the region. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Albany State University. She is currently in her twelfth year of employment as the Grants Administrator with the Southwest Georgia Regional Commission (RC). Her duties include: managing and monitoring expenditures for various federal and state funded grant programs, the preparation of monthly financial reporting and close out procedures related to each grant. Also, she works closely with the RC’s Planning staff on the preparation, development and budgetary component of various grants to assist the local cities and counties with their grant needs

Laura Davis
Accountant & Transit Manager

Laura joined Southwest Georgia Regional Commission in December 2007 in our Non-Emergency Transportation Department as the Accounting Supervisor and currently works in the Accounting & Transportation Departments as Accountant/Transit Manager. Her history includes extensive experience in billing, accounts payable and all aspects of our Transportation program. Laura processes transit billing and monitoring of our transit vehicles, payroll, accounts payable, performs HR and other accounting/transit functions. Laura currently resides in Colquitt County with her husband.

Rebecca "Beka" Shiver
Economic Development & Transportation Planning

A graduate of Georgia Southern University with majors in Sociology, Geography, and Business, Beka Shiver joins the Regional Commission as an Economic Development/Transportation Planner. Her experience includes working as the City of Pelham’s Main Street Manager, Regional Commission Planning Assistant, and Small Business Ownership. She is excited to be back at the Regional Commission bringing with her extensive marketing and customer services experience, writing, and downtown development expertise.

Jeffery "Jeff" Hamilton

Jeff joined the Southwest Georgia RDC in August 2000. After graduating from Colquitt County High School, he attended Moultrie Technical College, where he earned various technical certificates. As the GIS Technician Jeff maintains the GIS data for all local governments in our region as well as assisting with other projects including GPS data collection, map creation for a variety of planning projects including community development block grants, comprehensive plans, land use maps, and zoning maps. Jeff currently resides in Colquitt County with his wife and two children.

Olukayode "Kay" Olubowale
Planner II

Olukayode Olubowale (Kay) received his Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Alabama A&M University, Alabama, and his Bachelors in Geology from Olabisi Onabanjo University. As an Urban Planner, he has carried out and collaborated in diverse research areas. He received national recognition for his research and work in transportation. His planning experience includes work in comprehensive planning, downtown revitalization, and environmental assessment. He most recently worked as a Business Strategist and the Southwest Georgia Regional Commission is delighted to welcome him to our team as a Planner II. He is active in his community and he and his family currently reside in Leesburg, Georgia.

Grant Administrator/Writer Jennifer Pittman joined the Southwest Georgia Regional Commission staff in March of 2023. She holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Florida State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Management from Valdosta State University. She lives in Bainbridge, Georgia.

Sheena Stephens

Sheena Stephens has been hired as a Planning Assistant. She is pursuing a Digital Marketing & E-commerce certification from Google. Her previous work history includes experience in the areas of administration and leadership, human resources and multimedia design. Mrs. Stephens is a Certified Adobe Illustrator, which she earned at Trinity Technical College, South Carolina. She is active in her community and resides in Albany, Georgia. Alorian "Lori" Williams joined the Southwest Georgia Regional Commission in July 2024 as the Planning Administrative Assistant. Currently in her final year of earning a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design and Media Arts, Lori brings a creative and organized approach to her role. She resides in Colquitt, Georgia, with her fiancé and four children, balancing her dedication to her family with her commitment to professional growth and community development.

Helen Williams has been a receptionist a couple times at the Regional Commission. This latest time she has been here since September of 2014. So now when you call and you hear a friendly voice on the other end of the line it is more than likely Helen. Helen is from Camilla, Georgia and enjoys gardening and interior decorating.

Jeremiah Florence is a dedicated senior at Mitchell County High School, known for his influential leadership and commitment to service within his school and community. As an active student leader, he spearheads multiple programs and organizations, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation among his peers. With a passion for making a difference, Jeremiah is gearing up to run for Camilla City Council next year, aiming to bring positive change and represent the voices of his community. Following his high school graduation, he plans to attend Valdosta State University, where he will major in Organizational Leadership to further develop his skills and amplify his impact.
