non-public SWGRC council

  • The appointee will be appointed by the county and the cities. There is only one position to fill per county.

 

  • The appointee must live in that county.

 

  • The appointee is a private sector, NOT ELECTED individual. They can be retired.


Steps to appointing non-public SWGRC council

1. First

First decide if you are going to put the appointments on your December agenda or January agenda.

2. Second

Complete the form at the bottom of this page and and let me know which city council meeting agenda the appointments will be on.

3. Third

Ask your county chairman/ mayors if they wish to re-appoint the current appointee for this next year. 

4. Fourth

If you want to keep your current appointee

  • call them to see if they still want to be considered to be on our council for next year.

If they say yes then it is easy,

  • simply bring it up to your commissioners/council members during your meeting and.

If they say no

  • you must find someone to fill the empty spot and bring that appointee up in your commission/council meeting.

5. Fifth

Put your successful appointee's name, mailing address, phone number and email in an appointment letter, on the city letterhead and have your mayor sign it. Fax it to 229-522-3558 or scan and email it to hwhite@swgrc.org   

6. Sixth

Email the original to The Southwest Georgia Regional Commission, P.O. Box 346, Camilla, Georgia 31730.

You are done! 

Please complete/submit no later than Friday, JANUARY 31st!
