GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Employee in this position is responsible for clerical and administrative work involving the performance of complex and various clerical duties, and the assumption of numerous administrative details. Employee is responsible to and under the direct supervision of the Executive Director


EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
 Employee in this position serves as assistant to the Executive Director. The Executive Assistant makes appointments, receives phone calls and callers and refers them to proper persons; answers requests for information and prepares routine reports, gathers material, takes notes and types minutes of Council meetings. Supports the RC Council and its committees by arranging and scheduling meetings, preparing meeting materials, coordinates Council activities with those of the staff. Assists the Executive Director and other staff with special projects and/or administrative tasks as needed. Assignments are received in the form of general outlines and may be oral or written. Responsible for receiving and recording mail, mail receipts and distributing mail each day as necessary. Supervises and directs up to two-part time administrative staff. Directs contracted maintenance persons in the performance of their janitorial and maintenance duties. Maintains general supplies, office equipment, and vehicles. Performs other duties as required or assigned.
 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Must have considerable knowledge of the work of the Council and the policies and procedures. The employee must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, RC Council members and the general public. Must possess sufficient expertise with computers and word processing to effectively and efficiently accomplish the duties assigned. Strong organization skills and an ability to multi-task are essential. Candidate must have two to three years experience, preferably at an administrative level, or equivalent experience. A Bachelors degree in administration is preferred, but not required.
