Regional Transit Development Plan

The Southwest Georgia Regional Transit Development Plan (TDP) is a guide for the Southwest Georgia Regional Commission (SWGRC) and 14 counties within Southwest Georgia, along with their implementation partners, to work together to advance a regional transit system that aligns with the regional transit vision and goals. The overarching goal of the TDP is to ensure public transit accessibility to all in the region with particular focus on residents who are transit dependent.

View Plan

The Georgia Department of Transportation’s Safe Routes to School (SRTS) program encourages families to walk and roll to school where it is safe and collaborates with schools and communities to improve safety in areas where it is not. Through education, planning, and safety assessments, the program enhances infrastructure, promotes active transportation, and addresses traffic concerns to improve air quality, reduce congestion, and foster community engagement.
